Nigerian choir wins gold in Austria (VIDEO)

A Nigerian choir, Lagos City Choral, has won two Gold and two Silver medals at the first European Choir Games held in Graz, Austria , July 13-22, 2013.
The group which made Nigeria the only participating nation with the highest number of awards in the Austrian Open Competition for choirs worldwide, was directed by Sir Emeka Nwokedi. They contested in four categories (Folklore, Music of Religions, Music Contemporanea and Mixed Choir).

The 10-day event brought together over 50 choirs from different to contest in the Austrian Open Competition.

Lovely songs, lovely costumes. They sure did our great nation proud. Thumbs up.

Toni Braxton, one time highest selling R and B singer, suffered a wardrobe malfunction as she performed on stage in New Jersey last night. The beau didn't stop singing even at that, she was rescued by a gentleman from the crowd who lent her his jacket.

Protesters Jump off a bridge in Cairo to escape gunfire (Photos)

As many sought to escape the violence that rang out on the streets of Cairo Friday, some risked life and limb to avoid gunfire.

In photos and videos shared on social media, people are seen jumping and falling off a Cairo bridge.

Sarah Carr, a journalist who is on the ground in Cairo, described the scene in a series of tweets.

Nicki Minaj models her futuristic print collections

30-year old Nicki Minaj has posted pictures of herself wearing clothes from Kmart. Kmart is the rapper's own clothing line.

The Trinidad-born star had said 2-months earlier that the line is geared towards "women in general". Alongside the picture of her wearing the form-fitting dress from the line, the singer wrote: " one of my dresses. Hugs you in the right places.

 I heard and read of a message addressed to all single ladies from the area fada himself, Charly Boy. Its quite lengthy and is hinged on a conversation he had with his princess. Is it true that Nigerian young men are losing drive and focus?

A new Islamic group emerges

Yeah, so i heard. I'm really hoping and praying its not true.
I got the information from my friend who resides in Kano and is planning to do a write up on the security situation in Nigeria.

My source says there is a new group emerging in northern Nigeria called Kalo-Kato. They were discovered in Uregi-Kongoma and Kwana-mariga districts of Rafi Local Government in Niger State. The Group's leader has been named Abdulkadir Suwaba.

According to reports, this group came into Nigeria just before Ramadan and have been alleged to go about spreading " contaminated Islam". Their message to Muslims is to disregard "hadith" and the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W).

As of now, no terrorist attacks have been attributed to them.

Im using this medium to urge Nigerians to please report strange movements and faces within their vicinity. The peace and stability of Nigeria is our collective responsibility.

A teacher of 20-years who can't read (video)

A drama unfolded during the verification exercise of primary school teachers’ certificates in Edo State on Tuesday as one of the teachers in the state, Mrs. Augusta Odemwingie, was unable to read a sworn affidavit she tendered as part of her credentials. 

Mrs. Odemwingie teaches at Asologun Primary School, Ikpoba Okha local government area of Benin City, Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who paid an unscheduled visit to the State Staff Training Centre venue of the exercise was appalled that a teacher could not read, saying “if you can’t read, what do you teach the pupils? What do you write on the board?” The Chairman of the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Teachers, Comrade Patrick Ikosimi, who was also at the screening to monitor the exercise, said the woman’s failure was “an embarrassment to the education system at large.” On arrival at the centre, the governor took time to peruse some of the teachers’ credentials and documents presented. 

When Mrs. Odenwingie took her turn during the exercise, the governor who listened to her defence asked her to read the affidavit she presented. She stuttered and read the affidavit as if a kindergarten was learning to read, to the shocking amusement of everybody around.

 In this lengthy letter, the former beauty queen called Femi Fani Kayode a drug addict and a Yoruba bastard for claiming he once dated Bianca Ojukwu and several Igbo women. She also blamed Igbo ladies and Bianca Ojukwu for having sex with him.

  

 "I’ve Just Been Told That Having Sex With An Igbo Woman Is A Great Accomplishment!!! After reading another hard-drug-influenced-essay by the Yoruba idiot parading himself as Femi Fani-Kayode, Ex-Minister of the Nigerian Federation, I felt there was no need to blame him for giving us another reason why his family members should as a matter of urgency, BUNDLE HIM BACK TO A REHAB! Were Bianca, Chioma & Adaobi blind to Femi’s madness/drug-addiction or maybe he flashed his Ministerial/Ex-Ministerial portfolio to entice them? This is the first time a former public figure (I blame Former President Obasanjo for giving him that privilege) has preferred to reel out the names of women he had sex with, in a bid to show-off how he has been able to conquer tribalism in Nigeria or maybe trying to tell others he has been able to made love with one of the prettiest ex beauty queens another tribe may boast of, like Bianca Ojukwu (Nee Onoh) of the Igbo tribe.

 Some persons have advised that Femi Fani-Kayode should be ignored due to his MENTAL INSTABILITY but i say NO to it! I will not ignore him because when a mad-man chases one into his house & still want to exhibit that madness there, the owner of the house will definitely react except he doesn’t value his house! This has taken a tribal angle & its such a shame that many Yorubas have been applauding Fani-Kayode’s spiteful comments against the Igbo.

 I may not want to generalize the behavioural disorders of even the average Yoruba, but i want to use this ample opportunity to remind our single Igbo sisters that if “He” is not Igbo, He can’t be like an Igbo-man who won’t be so ridiculous to think that giving us some of the names of our ladies he had sex with makes him a superman, as Femi Kayode must be ‘thinking’ in his fool’s paradise.

 Right now in Nigeria, the likes of a Yoruba bastard like Femi Fani-Kayode have proved that Igbo women should think “wisely” in making choices as regards whom they allow ‘ACCESS’ to their much fancied bodies.

 An Igboman would NEVER do what Femi Fani-Kayode did with the names of Bianca Ojukwu (Nee Onoh), PDP’s Adaobi Uchegbu & the relatively unknown Chioma Anasoh or even women from other tribes.

 He typically exhibited behavioural disorder of the Yorubas, which is to them, a normal way of life.

 What a shame! Bianca Ojukwu & the other two ladies should as a matter of urgency, reply Femi Fani-Kayode’s show of lunacy, stupidity, foolishness, infantile reasoning & utter disrespect for them! Femi Fani-Kayode consciously & gladly made a spiteful remark of Igbo women & our women should take the fight to him in a very deserving impudent manner! I am waiting for the responses by Bianca, Adaobi & Chioma.

 By the way, I never knew men from other tribes take having sex with an Igbo lady as a great feat… Bianca & others should hold their heads high up."
